A Break

December 20th, 2006 , Posted in Uncategorized

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be taking a small break from the business starting tomorrow, December 21, until January 1…to enjoy time with my family over the holidays. I may post a few new things to the Blog, though!

Look at the soulful eyes on this little boy! This is one three year old that is gonna be a major heartbreaker from preschool on up! I think his personality really shows through in these images, and I’m thinking the girls aren’t gonna have a chance if he looks into their eyes!

Darn it!

December 14th, 2006 , Posted in Uncategorized

On Tuesday Jim was going to work when the car just…quit. Towed it to the Audi garage. BAD NEWS- the timing belt broke & destroyed the engine. Yuk. Now we have to look for another car in the middle of this holiday craziness. Of course, now he has to drive to work in his Corvette, poor guy (although if you know him, you know he hates any kind of rain or, God forbid, slush to touch that car…so pray for good weather until we get something else!).

Three

December 11th, 2006 , Posted in Uncategorized

Every time that you add another face to an image, it gets harder to capture a portrait with good eye contact from everyone. Three is especially hard, because there are always interactions between two at a time but not all three. I always hold my breath before a session like this, when I know there will be three children, because I know it can be a challenge. Well, I needn’t have worried with this one…these kids were a dream!

Sugar & Spice

December 2nd, 2006 , Posted in Uncategorized

Leanne has the same problem with her little Tessa that I do with Genevieve…she is VERY difficult to get to look at the camera! Now, Mia, on the other hand, poses like a Ford model! So here was my challenge: to get at least one image of those gorgeous blue eyes and chubby cheeks of toddler Tessa, and NOT to overshoot Mia! And if I could get a decent one of the two of them together, well, that was just gravy….! I think Leanne worked as hard as I did to keep the kids happy & Tessa relatively contained so I could snap away, but I know she wasn’t convinced at the end of the session that we were able to get anything. After she saw her girls’ slideshow for the first time, she wrote me the NICEST email telling me how happy she was to get these shots…Thanks, Leanne, it was my pleasure!
