I just love photographing this family…they always dress so great & look super-contemporary for their sessions! And of course, they look like models. And….those eyes!!!!

…got a call from Whirl magazine – they will be featuring Maria Sollon Scally’s wedding that we photographed in June in their January issue! Goes on sale December 21st! I submitted several dozen images to them. Wondering which ones they’ll use?
This wedding was held at the Montour Country Club in October, and we had the most unstable weather – cloudy, windy, but with bursts of fantastic light that gave us some unbelievable color! Jodi had all of the details planned, but the best images of the day were those that showed just how in love these two are!
The light on the golf course was exquisite:
Jason captured this very cool shot just as the wind blew her veil!
Jason took as many shots of the ring as I did of the hot Latino Violinist (!)
Love her expression during their first dance:

So yesterday we went by boat with the Heslins to the Tiki Hut, our favorite local hangout – very cute bar/restaurant on the lake, informal & fun. While we were sitting on the deck enjoying the sun, we noticed a lot of activity with the staff setting up the deck – and we found out that they were expecting Ed Roland from Collective Soul to drop by & do a few acoustic songs!!! Apparently he has a new home on the lake, and has dropped by there before. So OF COURSE we came back early to hear him, since we are huge fans, but half expecting that it wouldn’t happen – but it did. Wow, what fun! He was just so very nice & unassuming, shaking hands and chatting with everyone (maybe 150 people there in the 40 degree weather), posing for pictures, and best of all perched on a stool with his guitar treating us to some of our favorites. We sat right on the floor in front of the little deck-stage, only a few feet away. It really was fun and a night to remember – and YOU KNOW I got Jim to take a picture or two of me & him (like I would let THAT opportunity pass:

Most people do nothing but complain, or at best, barely tolerate their neighbors – but one reason it was hard for us to say goodbye to Pennsylvania was all of our wonderful neighbors, who were also some of our best friends. The Heslins built their home & moved to Pleasant Road when their youngest was just a baby, and as the kids grew so did our friendship. John is the one who got Jim into NASCAR (!) and we have all spent many fun times together. They have helped so much with our move and transition to SC, and are coming today to spend the holiday weekend with us in our new place and thereby taking the sting out of being away from family! Here are some of my favorites from their session before we left:

What a fun bunch these guys were to photograph! These kids were so comfortable in front of the camera and actually happy to be photographed…their mom let them have some input into hats and poses, so they were just great. I had sooo many to pick from, but I just grabbed these:

Laura came to visit on Tuesday eve, and Steve & Nicole arrived on Wednesday for a mini-vacation with us. The weather was OK, not hot but in the mid 60’s which was good enough to take a few jaunts in the boat & do some outdoor dining. We hung out a lot, but also went to Greenville on Sunday & watched the game at the local Steeler bar and cruised through a few shops. I just snapped a few quick ones on our beach before they left:
